The end of July in Canada's Yukon Territory is a special time. Not only are the bugs starting to wind down, but hunting season is just around the corner, and for some of us, hunting season means one thing: Sheep hunting. With the increasing use of ATVS leading to over-hunting of some areas closer to the main towns, the best way to access remote, challenging terrain is with a floatplane. However, flight time is expensive, so what could be better than your best mate and hunting partner who also happens to have his own floatplane?

Merlot on a sheep hunt! By gad, that's an absolutely awesome idea! MMMMM. Great story Paul, thanks for sharing it. I've never been to the Cannuck side of the Yukon, can't wait for Sept and a moose hunt up there. What's your opinion, moose or sheepmeat?
Comment by Paul C.
Moose or sheep meat? How about both! Although nothing like fresh Sheep ribs around the fire after a great hunt. Drop us a line when you are in the Yukon.

Great story. I admit to leaving bolt behind only once but did not have an aeroplane to fetch it!. Moose ribs would make a biiiig meal.

The presenter and I are hanging 15 yards back. Both experienced hunters and physically very fit, both totally out of our league as these jungle athletes spring from fallen log to thorny palm trunk, without making a sound, and in one fluid movement.
